3D Scanning for Converse Shoes

MYND Workshop collaborated with Estudi Image to transform the presentation of Converse Shoes in advertisements through advanced 3D scanning techniques. The project began with photogrammetry scanning, capturing the shoes from various angles to ensure a comprehensive digital representation. The resulting images were then processed into 3D mesh models that accurately mirrored the physical shoes.

The transition from complex mesh to a refined digital model involved a crucial step of mesh retopology. This process optimized the models for digital applications, maintaining the essential details of the Converse Shoes while ensuring the models were lightweight and efficient for use in various digital platforms.

Following the retopology, UV mapping was applied to the models, laying out a 2D texture map that corresponds accurately to the 3D surface of the shoes. The final touch in bringing these digital models to life was the creation of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) maps. These maps included albedo, normals, metallic, and roughness textures, enabling the digital shoes to exhibit realistic textures and interact with light in a lifelike manner.

The project resulted in highly detailed and optimized 3D models of Converse Shoes, which were then utilized in dynamic and visually engaging advertisements. These digital models provided a new way to showcase the shoes, offering potential customers a detailed and interactive view that goes beyond traditional advertising mediums.
